Discover the roots and divine significance of our temple.
Dedicated to Shri Mukhyaprana Devaru, our temple was consecrated by the revered Shri Vyasaraja Tirtha.
Shri Vyasaraja (c. 1460 – 1539 AD) was a pivotal figure, serving as the Rajaguru (Royal Preceptor) of the mighty Vijayanagara Empire. He is historically famous for his mission to consecrate an astounding 732 idols of Lord Hanuman (Mukhyaprana) across South India, with our shrine being one of those powerful, sacred centers.
Tradition holds that Shri Vyasaraja is an incarnation of Prahlada, the supreme devotee. The idol here is considered a Moola Vigraha (Primal Idol), consecrated with potent spiritual power and following the precise Vedic and Tantric rituals from the Tantrasara Sangraha, ensuring the temple's profound sanctity.
The temple stands as a beacon of devotion and timeless tradition, inviting all pilgrims into its divine atmosphere, upholding the highest standards of Vedic traditions.
Prahlada Raja, the supreme devotee, manifested as Shri Vyasaraja Swamiji in the Kali Yuga. His divine purpose was the upliftment of noble souls through the consecration of thousands of Shri Mukhyaprana Devaru idols.
In the Raudri Samvatsara, Shri Vyasaraja achieved the monumental task of consecrating 732 idols of Shri Mukhyaprana in a single year, following the meticulous scriptural rituals of the Tantrasara Sangraha.
Shri Vyasaraja's profound influence endures through his numerous compositions, including stotras and devotional songs, all dedicated to Shri Mukhyaprana, the indwelling life force sustaining all beings.
Help us preserve this ancient spiritual tradition for future generations.
